SPU Boosts Local Biodiversity Through Urban Development Integration
Sripatum University (SPU) continues to drive sustainable development by embedding biodiversity protection into its campus planning and local development initiatives. In alignment with SDG 15.3.3, the university has demonstrated a strong commitment to preserving ecosystems while advancing urban growth.
SPU’s efforts focus on integrating green spaces, native vegetation, and local habitat protection within campus infrastructure projects. This includes dedicated preservation zones, comprehensive landscaping strategies, and collaborative biodiversity mapping with local experts. These actions directly respond to SDG 15.3.3: “Biodiversity in campus planning and development”, and reflect SPU’s deep stewardship of terrestrial ecosystems.
In connection with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SPU’s approach strengthens community resilience and promotes green urban design. The university’s ecological planning contributes to SDG 13 (Climate Action) by increasing carbon sequestration and reducing urban heat. Furthermore, by involving local communities and stakeholders, SPU addresses SDG 17.2.1 and 17.2.5 through regional partnerships and joint biodiversity action programmes.
Environmental education has also been embedded into the initiative. Through SPU’s public awareness campaigns and knowledge-sharing efforts, the university supports SDG 4.3.4 and 4.3.5, ensuring inclusive learning opportunities on sustainability issues. SPU’s outreach fosters local engagement, thereby promoting responsible land use in line with SDG 12.2.1 and 12.2.5.
Moreover, this biodiversity-focused initiative advances SDG 9.1.1 by encouraging innovation in ecological design, and supports the broader preservation of species under SDG 15.3.2. These efforts collectively highlight SPU’s interdisciplinary and inclusive approach to sustainable land development.

มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม ผสานความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพในแผนพัฒนาเมืองอย่างยั่งยืน
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) เดินหน้านำหลักการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนมาใช้ โดยบูรณาการการอนุรักษ์ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพในกระบวนการวางแผนพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของมหาวิทยาลัยและชุมชนโดยรอบ สอดคล้องกับ SDG 15.3.3 “การรวมความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพในแผนพัฒนาและผังแม่บท”
SPU ให้ความสำคัญกับพื้นที่สีเขียว พืชพรรณท้องถิ่น และการออกแบบที่เอื้อต่อระบบนิเวศ เช่น การจัดสรรพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ การวางแผนภูมิทัศน์ร่วมกับนักอนุรักษ์ และการสร้างแผนที่ชีวภาพเชิงลึก ซึ่งทั้งหมดนี้สะท้อนถึงความรับผิดชอบต่อระบบนิเวศทางบกอย่างจริงจัง
ในมิติของ SDG 11 “เมืองและชุมชนที่ยั่งยืน” SPU ส่งเสริมการวางผังเมืองที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม เพิ่มความยืดหยุ่นของชุมชนต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับ SDG 13 “การรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ” ผ่านการดูดซับคาร์บอนและลดเกาะความร้อนในเมือง
โครงการนี้ยังเชื่อมโยงกับ SDG 17.2.1 และ 17.2.5 โดย SPU สร้างความร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานท้องถิ่น ภาคประชาสังคม และองค์กรด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อพัฒนากิจกรรมอนุรักษ์ร่วมกัน พร้อมกันนี้ยังดำเนินกิจกรรมให้ความรู้แก่ประชาชน ผ่านการจัดอบรม สื่อสารรณรงค์ และเปิดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม สอดคล้องกับ SDG 4.3.4 และ 4.3.5
ในด้านนโยบายและการบริหารจัดการ SPU ส่งเสริมแนวทางการใช้พื้นที่อย่างมีความรับผิดชอบ ตาม SDG 12.2.1 และ 12.2.5 รวมถึงส่งเสริมนวัตกรรมด้านการออกแบบที่รักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม ซึ่งสนับสนุนเป้าหมาย SDG 9.1.1 และการอนุรักษ์พันธุ์พืชสัตว์หายาก ตามเป้าหมาย SDG 15.3.2
การดำเนินงานทั้งหมดนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความมุ่งมั่นของ SPU ในการสร้างมหาวิทยาลัยที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม และร่วมขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมายการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนในระดับประเทศและระดับโลกอย่างแท้จริง
