SPU Elevates Campus Sustainability through Land Conservation and Smart Green Planning
Sripatum University (SPU) has reinforced its role as a national leader in sustainable development through the strategic implementation of land use, green area conservation, and environmental restoration—all aligned with SDG 15 (Life on Land). Through its Office of Buildings and Grounds, SPU has turned sustainability into both policy and daily practice across the campus.
The university balances infrastructure development with eco-conscious planning. Public green spaces filled with native trees are designated for both relaxation and learning, supporting urban biodiversity and reducing carbon emissions. These efforts reflect SPU’s commitment to sustainable ecosystems and student well-being.
In response to SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SPU manages water use through rainwater harvesting and recycling systems that maintain landscaping while reducing reliance on natural water sources. Meanwhile, efficient energy use and renewable systems address SDG 13 (Climate Action), showcasing responsible campus operations.
SPU also implements waste separation, composting, and the use of smart energy and water management systems, integrating technology to minimize environmental impact and optimize resources—clearly supporting SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
But SPU’s green transformation goes beyond infrastructure. Through tree-planting events and environmental education, the university promotes hands-on awareness and civic engagement in students, building a culture of sustainability from the ground up.
With these measures, Sripatum University has not only restored degraded areas but also created new models for urban greening and sustainable land management in higher education—proving that visionary planning, backed by technology and community, can transform campuses into living ecosystems.

มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) ตอกย้ำบทบาทผู้นำด้านการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน ด้วยการดำเนินงานด้านการใช้ที่ดิน การอนุรักษ์พื้นที่สีเขียว และการฟื้นฟูระบบนิเวศอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม โดยเชื่อมโยงอย่างชัดเจนกับเป้าหมาย SDG 15 (ชีวิตบนบก) ผ่านหน่วยงานสำนักงานอาคารสถานที่ที่ดูแลการบริหารจัดการเชิงนโยบายและปฏิบัติจริงภายในมหาวิทยาลัย
SPU ใช้แนวคิดการพัฒนาเชิงสมดุลระหว่างโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและธรรมชาติ โดยจัดสรรพื้นที่สีเขียวสำหรับพักผ่อนและการเรียนรู้ พร้อมปลูกไม้พื้นถิ่นเพื่อส่งเสริมความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพและลดการปล่อยคาร์บอน เป็นการวางแผนที่ทั้งส่งผลต่อระบบนิเวศและสุขภาพของชุมชนในมหาวิทยาลัย
มหาวิทยาลัยยังบริหารจัดการน้ำอย่างยั่งยืนตาม SDG 6 (น้ำสะอาดและสุขาภิบาล) ด้วยการเก็บน้ำฝนและรีไซเคิลน้ำใช้ในการดูแลภูมิทัศน์ ลดการใช้น้ำจากแหล่งธรรมชาติ ขณะเดียวกันยังสนับสนุน SDG 13 (การรับมือการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ) ด้วยการติดตั้งระบบพลังงานทดแทนและใช้แสงธรรมชาติในอาคารเพื่อลดการใช้พลังงาน
ในด้าน SDG 12 (การบริโภคและการผลิตที่ยั่งยืน) SPU มีระบบแยกขยะ การทำปุ๋ยหมัก และใช้เทคโนโลยีในการบริหารจัดการพลังงานและน้ำอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เพื่อให้เกิดการใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างคุ้มค่าและลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม
นอกเหนือจากด้านกายภาพ มหาวิทยาลัยยังปลูกฝังจิตสำนึกสีเขียวให้แก่นักศึกษาและบุคลากร ผ่านกิจกรรมปลูกต้นไม้และการเรียนรู้ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม สร้างวัฒนธรรมแห่งความยั่งยืนจากรากฐาน
