Reporting period: 1 August 2025 – 31 July 2026
One page, one year, every commitment: SPU’s public account of what it did to end poverty in all its forms, for its students and the communities around its campuses.

Sripatum University (SPU) reports its progress on SDG 1 openly every year, because poverty reduction only counts when others can check it. Under the Alpha Ready Roadmap, SPU’s starting point is simple: a family’s income should not decide who enters university, who graduates, or who gets a fair chance to earn a living. This report covers the 2025/26 academic year (1 August 2025 – 31 July 2026) and brings together, in one place, the targets, programmes and results behind that commitment.
Access and completion for low-income students. SPU sets a target to admit students from the bottom household-income group. It aims for at least a quarter of each intake to access the government Student Loan Fund (SLF) or SPU scholarships, and for every eligible applicant who asks for help to receive it. A matching graduation target asks that every student identified through the SLF means test progresses each term and completes their degree. The Scholarship Office follows borrowers term by term, and registry dashboards flag at-risk students to advisers early. In September 2025 an SLF monitoring visit reviewed borrowers’ progress and sped up document checks. In June 2026 Krungthai Bank opened loan accounts on campus so living allowances arrive on time. Full-degree tuition waivers support Rajaprajanugroh Foundation and Southern Border Provinces scholars. Global Intelligence Scholarships, partner-college degrees in Nepal and free campus healthcare widen access for students from lower-income countries. Free counselling, health checks, rent discounts at vetted dormitories, tuition instalments and paid “Earn to Learn” work remove the non-tuition costs that push students out.
A family’s income should not decide who enters university, who graduates, or who gets a fair chance to earn a living.
Livelihoods, basic services and policy beyond campus. SPU staff gave free mentoring in AI-assisted selling, smartphone content and business-model design to residents and community enterprises in Bang Bua and Chonburi. The School of Entrepreneurship guided founders to equity-free seed funding and offered rent-free trading space at campus markets. In January 2026, “Sripatum Delivers Happiness to the Community #2” brought free health checks and hygiene and waste-sorting learning to Bang Bua families. Engineering students presented solar smart lighting and a water-saving pipe design for the same community, and SPU sent relief supplies to southern flood shelters. SPU also contributed to anti-poverty policy at every level: the Chatuchak District Anti-Drug Operation Centre Committee, the Chonburi Provincial Education Development Plan, fair rental and utility-billing work with the Office of the Consumer Protection Board, and UN Thailand’s dialogue on the Pact for the Future. Next year SPU will follow borrowers’ progress more closely and widen paid learning and year-round community start-up support.
At Sripatum University, reporting on SDG 1 is a promise kept in public: each year we show what we did, what changed for students and communities, and where we will go further, so that poverty never decides how far a person can go.
