A public 2045 target, monthly energy tracking and steady upgrades across campus are turning SPU’s climate commitment into a measurable, everyday practice.
Sripatum University (SPU) has set a clear direction for climate action: to become a carbon-neutral university by 2045, in line with Thailand’s national pathway. The commitment, endorsed by the University Energy Management Committee, follows the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. It covers Scope 1 emissions from fuel used on campus and Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity, and Scope 3 sources will be added step by step. The target grows out of SPU’s Energy and Environment Conservation Policy (revised 2022), which puts renewable and clean energy ahead of fossil fuels and asks every new or renovated building to save energy.
Day-to-day delivery sits with the Office of Building and Facilities. Each month it tracks electricity use across campus buildings and the output of the rooftop solar system. Each year it runs the national energy management cycle to set new reduction measures. In 2025–26 this meant several practical upgrades:
- replacing ageing air-conditioning with efficient units;
- refitting the indoor sports hall with new lighting;
- regular maintenance of electrical systems;
- colour-coded waste sorting across campus.
Engineers are also using BIM (Building Information Modelling) and point-cloud scans to plan renovations that waste less energy and material. Students take part too. Through ECOLIFE in U, launched with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) at Freshy Day in July 2026, students log low-carbon habits that feed into the university’s environmental impact data. Communication Arts students have also used AI to create campaigns that raise awareness of global warming.
The result is a climate commitment people can see and check.
Responsibility is clear, energy data is collected regularly, and every member of the campus has a part to play. This approach supports the Smart University direction of SPU’s Alpha Ready Reinventing Roadmap. The next step is a full greenhouse gas inventory to sharpen the path to 2045.
By pairing a public 2045 target with steady measurement and shared action, Sripatum University is building a campus where every kilowatt-hour and every daily choice moves it closer to carbon neutrality.

มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) กำหนดทิศทางด้านการรับมือการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศอย่างชัดเจน คือการเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีความเป็นกลางทางคาร์บอนภายในปี 2045 สอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายของประเทศไทย คำมั่นนี้ได้รับความเห็นชอบจากคณะกรรมการจัดการพลังงานของมหาวิทยาลัย และยึดตามมาตรฐาน Greenhouse Gas Protocol
เป้าหมายครอบคลุมการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกใน Scope 1 จากการใช้เชื้อเพลิงภายในมหาวิทยาลัย และ Scope 2 จากไฟฟ้าที่ซื้อมาใช้ พร้อมทยอยขยายสู่ Scope 3 เป้าหมายนี้ต่อยอดจากนโยบายการอนุรักษ์พลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อม ฉบับแก้ไข พ.ศ. 2565 ที่ให้ความสำคัญกับพลังงานหมุนเวียนแทนเชื้อเพลิงฟอสซิล
สำนักงานอาคารสถานที่ติดตามการใช้ไฟฟ้าของอาคารและการผลิตไฟฟ้าจากโซลาร์รูฟทุกเดือน และใช้วงจรการจัดการพลังงานตามกฎหมายกำหนดมาตรการลดการใช้พลังงานใหม่ทุกปี ในปี 2568–2569 มีการปรับปรุงที่เห็นผลจริงหลายด้าน ได้แก่
- เปลี่ยนเครื่องปรับอากาศเก่าเป็นระบบประสิทธิภาพสูง
- ปรับปรุงระบบไฟส่องสว่างของโรงยิม
- บำรุงรักษาระบบไฟฟ้าอย่างสม่ำเสมอ
- วางจุดแยกขยะตามประเภททั่วมหาวิทยาลัย
ทีมวิศวกรยังใช้เทคโนโลยี BIM และการสแกน Point Cloud ในการวางแผนปรับปรุงอาคาร เพื่อลดการสิ้นเปลืองพลังงานและวัสดุ
นักศึกษามีส่วนร่วมอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม ผ่านโครงการ ECOLIFE in U ที่เปิดตัวร่วมกับกระทรวง อว. ในงาน Freshy Day เดือนกรกฎาคม 2569 นักศึกษาบันทึกพฤติกรรมคาร์บอนต่ำผ่านแอป และข้อมูลจะถูกนำไปประเมินผลกระทบด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมของมหาวิทยาลัย ขณะที่นักศึกษานิเทศศาสตร์ใช้ AI สร้างสรรค์สื่อรณรงค์ตระหนักรู้เรื่องลดโลกร้อน
ผลที่เกิดขึ้นคือคำมั่นด้านสภาพภูมิอากาศที่มองเห็นและตรวจสอบได้
มีผู้รับผิดชอบชัดเจน มีการเก็บข้อมูลอย่างต่อเนื่อง และทุกคนในมหาวิทยาลัยมีบทบาทร่วมกัน สอดรับทิศทาง Smart University ตามแผน Alpha Ready Reinventing Roadmap ก้าวต่อไปคือการจัดทำบัญชีก๊าซเรือนกระจกฉบับสมบูรณ์ เพื่อกำหนดเส้นทางสู่ปี 2045 ให้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น
