From Local Identity to National Excellence: Charan District Design Wins DEmark Award 2026

Sripatum University Graphic Design Student Earns Top National Recognition by Transforming the Vibrant Heritage of Charan Sanitwong District into Impactful Visual Communication

Design is far more than aesthetic expression; it serves as a powerful medium for preserving community heritage, celebrating local identity, and connecting people with their environments. Sripatum University proudly congratulates Ms. Pannapat Krairujiraluck, a Graphic Design student from the Faculty of Digital Media, for winning the prestigious Design Excellence Award (DEmark Award 2026) in the Graphic Design and Communication category.

Her award-winning project captures the distinct character of the Charan Sanitwong neighborhood by harmonizing two core concepts: “the rhythm of urban movement” and “the simplicity of local ways of life.” Through innovative visual identity design, the project preserves and presents local narrative to a wider public audience. This achievement directly aligns with SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, specifically sub-goal SDG 11.2: Support of arts and heritage and sub-sub-goal SDG 11.2.5: Arts and heritage contribution, by showcasing and honoring community cultural heritage through contemporary design.

This success highlights Sripatum University’s commitment to practical, career-ready education that bridges classroom instruction with professional industry standards. Under the guidance of thesis advisor Lecturer Stephanie Pailin Teel, the student received dedicated mentorship throughout concept development, design execution, and industry refinement. This hands-on academic framework supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, particularly sub-goal SDG 8.4: Proportion of students taking work placements and sub-sub-goal SDG 8.4.1: Proportion of students with work placements, by developing professional skills and career readiness among students.

Ms. Pannapat’s achievement demonstrates the potential of young designers to turn academic work into meaningful social and commercial contributions. Sripatum University remains committed to nurturing creative talent to drive sustainable cultural and economic development on a global scale.
