SPU Engages Communities in Clean Energy Movement
Sripatum University (SPU) is redefining academic leadership by bridging campus operations with meaningful community engagement in the pursuit of sustainable energy. Aligned with SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, the university’s initiatives extend beyond internal energy efficiency — they now empower surrounding communities to embrace clean, renewable energy practices.
Through the oversight of the Facilities Office, SPU has implemented comprehensive energy management systems across all campus buildings. These include the adoption of energy-saving technologies, systematic energy monitoring, and annual reporting to the Ministry of Energy — measures that satisfy SDG 7.2.1 (increasing renewable energy) and SDG 7.4.1 (training for local energy efficiency).
Crucially, SPU’s clean energy advocacy reaches local communities through educational outreach programs. By collaborating with government and private sectors, the university actively promotes the use of solar energy and energy-conscious living. These activities directly support SDG 7.4.2 (promotion of 100% renewable energy pledges) and SDG 17.2.5 (joint SDG projects with NGOs), showcasing a deeply rooted commitment to public awareness and empowerment.
Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms ensure accountability and continuous improvement. Annual audits track the university’s energy consumption while guiding strategies for policy development. Such data-driven efforts not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but foster long-term, inclusive partnerships that model the ethos of SDG 17.2.1 and SDG 17.4.3.
By integrating campus expertise with civic responsibility, SPU is not just transitioning to clean energy — it’s igniting a cultural shift toward sustainable development throughout its academic and local communities.

มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) ยกระดับบทบาทสถาบันอุดมศึกษา ด้วยการเชื่อมโยงการจัดการพลังงานภายในองค์กรเข้ากับการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน สู่เป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนข้อที่ 7 “พลังงานสะอาดที่เข้าถึงได้และทันสมัยสำหรับทุกคน” โดยเน้นทั้งด้านประสิทธิภาพการใช้พลังงานภายใน และการขับเคลื่อนองค์ความรู้ด้านพลังงานสู่สาธารณชน
ผ่านการดูแลของสำนักงานอาคารสถานที่ SPU ดำเนินมาตรการควบคุมพลังงานอย่างรอบด้านในทุกอาคารของมหาวิทยาลัย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการใช้เทคโนโลยีประหยัดพลังงาน ระบบตรวจวัดการใช้พลังงาน และการรายงานต่อกระทรวงพลังงานทุกปี ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับ SDG 7.2.1 (เพิ่มสัดส่วนการใช้พลังงานทดแทน) และ SDG 7.4.1 (การฝึกอบรมด้านประสิทธิภาพพลังงานแก่ชุมชน)
นอกจากนี้ มหาวิทยาลัยยังจัดกิจกรรมเผยแพร่ความรู้สู่ชุมชนผ่านความร่วมมือกับภาครัฐและเอกชน ส่งเสริมการใช้พลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ และสร้างจิตสำนึกด้านพลังงานอย่างยั่งยืนในสังคม ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงการสนับสนุน SDG 7.4.2 (การสนับสนุนคำมั่นสัญญาพลังงานหมุนเวียน 100%) และ SDG 17.2.5 (โครงการร่วมกับ NGO ตามแนว SDGs)
มหาวิทยาลัยยังมีระบบติดตามและประเมินผลการดำเนินงานที่เข้มข้น โดยมีการตรวจสอบและรายงานการใช้พลังงานประจำปี เพื่อปรับปรุงนโยบายและวางแผนการจัดการอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ทั้งหมดนี้เป็นการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกและสร้างความร่วมมืออย่างยั่งยืนตามแนวทางของ SDG 17.2.1 และ SDG 17.4.3
SPU ไม่เพียงแต่เปลี่ยนแปลงองค์กรให้ใช้พลังงานสะอาด แต่ยังจุดประกายวัฒนธรรมความยั่งยืนที่เชื่อมโยงมหาวิทยาลัยกับชุมชนอย่างแท้จริง
