Sripatum University Chonburi (SPU) is at the forefront of supporting low-carbon innovation, fostering eco-friendly practices among local entrepreneurs and communities. In collaboration with the Eastern Economic Corridor Office, SPU organized the EEC Woman Power Workshop on August 8, 2024, to showcase low-carbon clothing production and natural dyeing techniques. This workshop highlights SPU’s commitment to building partnerships between local communities and industry, promoting sustainable business models that align with SDG 7.4.5’s goal of assisting low-carbon innovation.
One of SPU’s flagship projects, the Low Carbon Fabric Project in Klong Tamru Community, trains local residents in sustainable skills, including the use of natural fibers and green manufacturing processes. This initiative has increased local incomes by 30%, provided new employment opportunities, and strengthened community resilience through eco-friendly practices. By empowering local artisans with knowledge of sustainable production, SPU is actively supporting the development of low-carbon solutions that drive both economic growth and environmental stewardship.
Through these initiatives, SPU Chonburi demonstrates its dedication to fostering low-carbon innovation by promoting partnerships with industry, government, and local communities. The university’s initiatives highlight the role of academic institutions in supporting sustainable entrepreneurship and contribute significantly to Thailand’s journey toward sustainable economic development.
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม ชลบุรี ส่งเสริมการพัฒนานวัตกรรมคาร์บอนต่ำและการเติบโตของชุมชนอย่างยั่งยืน
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม ชลบุรี (SPU) ให้การสนับสนุนการพัฒนานวัตกรรมคาร์บอนต่ำและการปฏิบัติที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมในกลุ่มผู้ประกอบการและชุมชนท้องถิ่น ร่วมกับสำนักงานเขตพัฒนาพิเศษภาคตะวันออก (EEC) SPU ได้จัด เวิร์กช็อปพลังสตรี EEC เมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม 2024 เพื่อจัดแสดงการผลิตเสื้อผ้าที่ปล่อยคาร์บอนต่ำและเทคนิคการย้อมสีธรรมชาติ กิจกรรมนี้แสดงถึงความมุ่งมั่นของ SPU ในการสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างชุมชนท้องถิ่นและอุตสาหกรรม พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมรูปแบบธุรกิจที่ยั่งยืน ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมาย SDG 7.4.5 ในการสนับสนุนนวัตกรรมคาร์บอนต่ำ
หนึ่งในโครงการเด่นของ SPU คือ โครงการผ้าคาร์บอนต่ำในชุมชนคลองตำหรุ ซึ่งฝึกฝนทักษะด้านความยั่งยืนแก่ชาวบ้าน รวมถึงการใช้เส้นใยธรรมชาติและกระบวนการผลิตที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม โครงการนี้ช่วยเพิ่มรายได้ในชุมชนถึง 30% และสร้างโอกาสการจ้างงานใหม่ ส่งเสริมความเข้มแข็งของชุมชนผ่านการปฏิบัติที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยการให้ความรู้แก่ช่างฝีมือในท้องถิ่นเกี่ยวกับการผลิตอย่างยั่งยืน SPU สนับสนุนการพัฒนาโซลูชันคาร์บอนต่ำที่ส่งเสริมทั้งการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจและการดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อม
