Sripatum University (SPU) is setting an example in sustainable water management through focused efforts under SDG 6, which aims to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. SPU’s recent initiatives involve systematic tracking and optimization of water use across campus facilities, aligning with the global sub-goals for safe and efficient water management.
Through comprehensive monitoring, SPU collects and evaluates data on water usage, directly addressing SDG 6, specifically targets like 6.1 (safe and affordable drinking water) and 6.4 (water-use efficiency). The university has integrated water-efficient drinking stations and water-saving practices, also aligning with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), to promote sustainable consumption. The measures at SPU contribute to a holistic approach by linking water management with broader sustainability goals.
SPU’s commitment to sustainable water usage and sanitation not only fulfills SDG 6 but also reinforces goals associated with responsible consumption and urban sustainability. These efforts ensure that SPU remains a leader in adopting practices that preserve water resources, support resilient communities, and foster responsible consumption behaviors.
