At Sripatum University (SPU), commuting is part of energy and carbon management. The University Energy Management Committee oversees targets to reduce energy use and emissions, and the Office of Building and Facilities records campus energy and carbon performance every month. Progress is measured through an automated gate and vehicle management system run by the Office of Building and Facilities, which records every vehicle that enters. These records show how private car traffic changes each year, and year-on-year comparisons already show a drop.<\/p>\n<p>Public transport makes the shift practical: Bang Bua station on the BTS Green Line stands right at SPU&#8217;s main entrance, and the university publishes a &#8220;Travel to SPU&#8221; guide with BTS and MRT routes, travel times, fares and interchange points so students can plan car-free trips. Inside the gates, motorcycles and most vehicles are kept out of the academic zones, wide shaded walkways link the buildings, and the Office of Human Resources runs walking programmes such as &#8220;SPU (Count) Steps for Health&#8221; and &#8220;Happy Walk Hour @SPU&#8221;, recording participation over time.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-left: 6px solid #29ABE2; border-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #29ABE2, #E6007E) 1; padding: 8px 0 8px 56px; font-size: 28px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 28px 0;\"><p>The University Energy Management Committee has set a clear target: reduce the number of cars entering campus by 10%.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The outcome is a campus with less congestion, cleaner air and a healthier community, in line with the Alpha Ready Roadmap&#8217;s vision of SPU as a smart, livable university and a partner for smart-city development. The next step is a fuller greenhouse gas inventory under the Energy, Environment and Greenhouse Gas Management Committee, which will deepen commuting data and sharpen the targets that guide
