Under the labour law that governs private higher education in Thailand, the University Council has appointed a Work Protection Committee since 2018 and renewed it in 2022 for a four-year term. External experts, a competent official, an executive and internal academic and support members sit together on this committee to protect employee rights and benefits. It is also a real line of defence: under SPU&#8217;s Regulation on Employee Investigation, a staff member dismissed without severance can appeal directly to the committee and may bring a lawyer or adviser to any hearing. In July 2026 the University Council added the Code of Ethics Regulation. It requires executives to respect staff freedom of expression and equality and to listen to their teams, and it creates an Ethics Protection Committee with academic and support staff representatives. The Policy on Equality and Equity among Personnel extends these rights at work equally to women workers and international staff.<\/p>\n<p>Representation is backed by daily dialogue. More than 600 academic and support staff joined the Alpha Ready Forum in June 2026, following the August 2025 Personnel Conference, where leaders and staff discussed the university&#8217;s direction together. Each year, the Human Resources Office runs a staff survey on working conditions, welfare, pay, job security and whether staff feel able to raise views with management, and reports the results to the President. The Rector&#8217;s Direct Line and whistleblower protection give everyone a safe channel to speak up. Wider welfare support, such as the OTEP teachers&#8217; welfare service unit opened on campus in April 2026, adds further security. SPU presented these mechanisms at its 2026 IEAC evaluation and received the top 5-Star rating.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-left: 6px solid #29ABE2; border-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #29ABE2, #E6007E) 1; padding: 8px 0 8px 56px; font-size: 28px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 28px 0;\"><p>The Policy on Equality and Equity among Personnel extends these rights at work equally to women workers and international staff.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This rights-based, open workplace builds trust, supports well-being and helps SPU keep talented people, in line with the &#8220;Transparent Governance for Smart Organization&#8221; pillar of the Alpha Ready Roadmap and global labour standards on decent work. Next, SPU will publish its current committee appointments and state its recognition of staff associations more clearly in public HR communications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At SPU, fair labour relations mean
