These rules cover the building envelope, lighting, air-conditioning and renewable energy. The policy also encourages low-carbon materials and clean energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Governance.<\/strong> The Office of Building and Facilities applies the criteria from design through handover. The Energy Management Committee tracks performance and submits the statutory annual energy management report to DEDE. A new committee appointed in 2026 is mandated to recommend policy updates and to manage campus greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"border-left: 6px solid #29ABE2; border-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #29ABE2, #E6007E) 1; padding: 8px 0 8px 56px; font-size: 28px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 28px 0;\"><p>Every new build and renovation on campus must meet Thailand&#8217;s national energy efficiency standards.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Results.<\/strong> The Building 9 project began with an energy-loss survey, moved to a targeted plan, and then upgraded the existing air-conditioning system. Assessed savings reach tens of thousands of kilowatt-hours a year, avoiding more than ten tonnes of CO\u2082e annually. This builds on earlier LED retrofits, the solar rooftop on Building 11 and heat-reducing blinds. The School of Design and Architecture also embeds energy-efficient design in teaching, including a &#8220;DESIGN x SUSTAINABILITY&#8221; lecture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next steps.
