SPUIC students from BBM373 Integrated Marketing Communication<\/strong> recently embarked on an immersive learning journey to a Wolffia farm in Bangkok, where they explored how one of the world’s smallest aquatic plants can become a sustainable and globally marketable product. The visit provided students with firsthand experience of how innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture come together to create value throughout the food supply chain.<\/p>\n

During the visit, students learned about the complete production process\u2014from cultivating Wolffia using modern farming techniques to packaging, branding, and preparing products for consumers. Industry experts shared insights into sustainable farming practices, resource-efficient food production, and the growing global demand for environmentally responsible food alternatives.<\/p>\n

Beyond observing the production process, students participated in practical workshops where they prepared Wolffia-based sandwiches and examined how product presentation, branding, and marketing strategies influence consumer perception. By applying concepts from their Integrated Marketing Communication course, they explored how businesses position innovative food products in competitive markets while promoting sustainability and healthy lifestyles.<\/p>\n

The experience also highlighted the importance of collaboration between education and industry. By engaging directly with entrepreneurs and professionals, students gained valuable exposure to real-world agribusiness operations, sustainable product development, and the challenges of bringing innovative products from local farms to international markets.<\/p>\n
