SPU Revives Unused Spaces to Advance SDGs through Brownfield Development<\/strong>
Transforming neglected areas into sustainable learning and activity spaces reflects SPU\u2019s commitment to responsible, community-centered campus planning.<\/p>\n

Sripatum University (SPU) is taking a bold step toward sustainable urban transformation by developing brownfield sites into vibrant learning and activity zones. Under the Brownfield Development Project, SPU is repurposing unused areas next to Building 6 and the mezzanine of Building 1, Floor 7. These spaces will be converted into engineering workspaces and open-air activity courts, enhancing academic and social functions for students. The initiative aligns with multiple SDGs: SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). By avoiding new construction, SPU minimizes resource use, reduces carbon emissions, and builds a healthier, more inclusive campus environment.<\/p>\n

This brownfield redevelopment exemplifies SPU\u2019s innovative and sustainable campus planning approach. The university demonstrates how higher education institutions can lead in transforming existing assets into impactful infrastructure aligned with the SDGs.<\/p>\n
