SPU Steps Toward 100% Renewable Energy Future<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sripatum University (SPU) is taking a bold step in sustainability with its institutional pledge to shift entirely to renewable energy. In alignment with SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy<\/strong>, SPU\u2019s comprehensive energy strategy includes clean power generation, efficient infrastructure upgrades, and smart building systems that reduce dependence on fossil fuels and lower environmental impact.<\/p>\n

A central part of the transformation includes the large-scale installation of rooftop solar panels across campus buildings. These installations enable SPU to generate clean electricity on-site, actively contributing to SDG 7.2.1<\/strong> by increasing the share of renewable energy. Complementing this, the university has retrofitted buildings with energy-efficient LED lighting and motion-sensor systems (supporting SDG 7.3.1<\/strong>) and upgraded to intelligent air-conditioning systems that reduce unnecessary energy consumption.<\/p>\n

SPU\u2019s energy management also incorporates smart building concepts<\/strong> that enable real-time tracking of energy usage and immediate system adjustments, enhancing both efficiency and reliability. These efforts reflect the institution\u2019s commitment to sustainable operations and directly support its 100% renewable energy pledge<\/strong>, an action aligned with SDG 7.5.1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The results are compelling: decreased operational costs, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and measurable energy conservation. SPU\u2019s roadmap includes expanding solar capacity, launching innovative green energy projects, and increasing participation from students and staff in energy conservation awareness. These steps reinforce the university\u2019s role in climate leadership, while directly supporting Thailand\u2019s national sustainability policy.<\/p>\n
