SPU Divests from Fossil Fuels: A Bold Step Toward Clean Energy and Climate Action<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sripatum University (SPU) has reinforced its commitment to global sustainability by officially implementing a divestment policy, redirecting institutional investments away from fossil fuel industries and toward renewable, clean energy. This strategic move directly aligns with SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), with a particular emphasis on sub-goal 7.2.6 \u2013 the adoption of a divestment policy as part of a sustainable energy strategy.<\/p>\n

Under the supervision of SPU\u2019s Office of Buildings and Facilities, the university\u2019s shift includes reducing investments in coal, oil, and other fossil fuel sectors, while increasing support for solar and wind energy initiatives. Internally, SPU has upgraded its infrastructure by installing solar-powered lighting in selected buildings, deploying automated climate control systems, and replacing traditional bulbs with energy-saving LED lights. These actions reflect SPU\u2019s transition from carbon-intensive operations toward a more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible institution\u2014supporting SDG 13.2.2 (percentage of energy from low-carbon sources) and SDG 12.2.1 (ethical sourcing and responsible use).<\/p>\n

SPU\u2019s sustainability model extends beyond finance and facilities.
