SPU Scales Up Clean Energy Transformation with Ambitious Campus Energy Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sripatum University (SPU) continues its momentum in climate leadership by implementing a university-wide energy reduction strategy designed to cut electricity usage and greenhouse gas emissions while promoting clean energy adoption. This initiative positions SPU as a leading institution for SDG-aligned operations, particularly under SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.<\/p>\n

The university\u2019s Building and Grounds Office spearheads three core projects under this plan: solar rooftop installations, air-conditioning upgrades, and campus-wide adoption of LED lighting. These initiatives not only improve energy efficiency but also reduce reliance on fossil-fuel-based power systems, directly addressing SDG 7.2.1 (energy-efficient design), 7.2.3 (CO\u2082 reduction strategies), and 7.5.1 (low-carbon energy sources).<\/p>\n

The solar rooftop program exemplifies sustainable infrastructure by harnessing solar power for on-site electricity generation, reducing carbon emissions and energy costs. This aligns with SPU\u2019s commitment to SDG 13.2.1 (low-carbon energy tracking) and SDG 9.2.1 (sustainable innovation in infrastructure).<\/p>\n

The university also plans to replace outdated air-conditioning systems with high-efficiency models to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. Combined with LED lighting upgrades across all buildings, SPU will lower internal heat generation and improve lighting lifespan, reflecting practices aligned with SDG 12.2.1 (sustainable consumption) and SDG 11.4.8 (sustainable building standards).<\/p>\n
