Sripatum University with Institutions in China Established the ASEAN Railway College

On 18 December 2017, Sripatum University organized the Presentation Ceremony of Official Signage of ASEAN Railway College at the Exhibition Hall. After the meeting and MOU signing ceremony with Hunan Railway and Aviation Education Development Group on 22 September 2017, the ASEAN Railway College is established at Sripatum University by the cooperation from Hunan Railway and Aviation Education Development Group, and Hunan Vocational College of Railway Technology, with the purposes of fostering the study of rail transport and management, and to disseminate knowledge in the academic field of rail transport and mobility, as well as to produce qualified graduates for the rail transportation industry. On this occasion, President of Sripatum University – Dr. Rutchaneeporn P. Phukkamarn warmly welcomed the delegation of Hunan Vocational College of Railway Technology led by Vice President Yuan Qingwu, and the delegation of Hunan Railway and Aviation Education Development Group led by President Wang Guiyi, from P.R. China to SPU campus. The ceremony was also attended by guests of honor, namely; Clinical Professor Dr. Udom Kachintorn – Deputy Minister of Education who kindly gave a speech on “Thailand Ministry of Education’s Human Resource Development Policy for Rail Transit System”, General Yodyuth Boonyatikarn – Former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, and Mr. Suthep Panpeng – Deputy Director-General of State Railway of Thailand Electric Train. After the ceremony, the meeting was arranged in the afternoon for the three parties to discuss in details regarding the joint academic program, student exchange program, and study abroad program particularly in the fields of Railway Engineering and EMU Technology. It is believed that the academic collaboration with the establishment of ASEAN Railway College at Sripatum University will strengthen the relationship between Thailand and China, as well as bring the success in human resource development to the rail transportation industry for both countries.
