สำนักวิชาศึกษาทั่วไป มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (GE) โดย อาจารย์กัลยา คงอนุมัติ และอาจารย์วันเพ็ญ ลงยันต์ จัดกิจกรรมจิตอาสาและส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ โครงการ ปลูกต้นไม้ “มุ่งสู่ Net Zero” ด้วยการนำนักศึกษาลงพื้นที่ปลูกป่าชายเลน ที่จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ เพื่อรักษาระบบนิเวศในพื้นที่, สนับสนุน CARBON NEUTRALITY และสร้างเครือข่าย การเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียวเพื่อลดโลกร้อนในระยะยาว ซึ่งนับเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (Sustainable Development Goals : SDGs) ณ กองทัพเรือ ป้อมพระจุลจอมเกล้า ฐานทัพเรือกรุงเทพมหานคร เมื่อวันที่ 23 กันยายน 2566 ที่ผ่านมา<\/p>\n

\n สำหรับ“ป่าชายเลน” ที่เราคุ้นเคยเป็นแหล่งกักเก็บบลูคาร์บอนที่สำคัญ โดยป่าชายเลนดูดซับก๊าซเรือนกระจกไว้ตามลำต้น กิ่ง ใบ และรากไม้ใต้ดิน ซึ่งพื้นที่ป่าชายเลน 1 เฮกตาร์ สามารถดูดซับก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ได้มากถึง 8 ตันต่อปี มากกว่าการดูดซับโดยป่าบกเขตร้อน 2-4 เท่า ในประเทศไทย มีพื้นที่ป่าชายเลนประมาณ 1.5 ล้านไร่ หรือประมาณ 0.24 ล้านเฮกตาร์ ซึ่งสามารถดูดซับคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ได้สูงถึง 11 ล้านตันต่อปี และในปี 2565 บีซีพีจี ได้เพิ่มแหล่งกักเก็บบลูคาร์บอน ด้วยการปลูกป่าชายเลนเป็นจำนวน 293 ไร่ ซึ่งถือเป็นหนึ่งในกลยุทธ์พิชิตเป้าหมายลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ (Net Zero) ภายในปี 2573<\/p>\n
