Simulated Supply Chain, Real-World Impact: SPU’s Strategic Learning Initiative Boosts SDG 4, 8, 9 and 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sripatum University (SPU), through its College of Logistics and Supply Chain, took a bold step towards sustainable education and skills development by organizing the \u201cSPU Beer Game Contest\u201d on July 19, 2025. This dynamic and immersive event engaged students in a real-time logistics simulation under the course LSM11167: Logistics and Supply Chain Management, aimed at instilling a practical understanding of the supply chain mechanisms, order management, and the infamous bullwhip effect.<\/p>\n

The Beer Game\u2014a globally recognized teaching tool\u2014enabled students to simulate roles within a supply chain and make strategic decisions under fluctuating demand and limited information. More than just a fun activity, the contest honed essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, and operational decision-making.<\/p>\n

This initiative aligns strongly with SDG 4: Quality Education<\/strong>, particularly in promoting experiential and lifelong learning. Furthermore, by equipping students with real-world competencies for industry readiness, it supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth<\/strong>, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure<\/strong>. If expanded to include industry collaboration or inter-university competitions, it could even contribute to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With continued efforts to document, publish, and share outcomes from such educational innovations, SPU is solidifying its role as a leader in practical, impact-driven education aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n
