The black leopard, whose English name is Panthera pardus, is a protected wild animal, mammal type, number 182, according to the Ministerial Regulation \u201cDetermining some wild animals to be protected wild animals B.E. 2546\u201d issued under the authority of the Wild Animal Reservation and Protection Act B.E. 2535.<\/p>\n

It is also a wildlife species listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) or abbreviated as “CITES” to control the export and import of wildlife due to the extensive hunting and trade of wildlife and the lack of close control. Currently, there are 114 countries that are parties to this convention.<\/p>\n

The black leopard is a critically endangered and rare wild animal, and is therefore listed on Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered<\/a> Species.<\/p>\n

\u201cHunting\u201d means collecting, trapping, capturing, shooting, killing or in any other way harming wildlife that is not owned and is free, and includes chasing, cornering, calling or luring for such actions (Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act B.E. 2535).<\/p>\n
