Walking robot kit for paraplegics<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n
The brilliant ideas of engineering students that create innovations for a better quality of life in the future<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n
Today, one of the most important roles for the engineering profession is to jointly invent medical innovations by applying knowledge from various fields, such as engineering, science, medicine, public health, computers, and various technologies, to design, create, or develop medical devices or tools that will help improve the quality of life of people in society.<\/span><\/h6>\n
For example, the project on innovation cooperation to develop a prototype of a \u201cwalking robot kit for the paralyzed\u201d, which was initiated by the Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, in collaboration with IRPC and the Sirindhorn Institute.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Before becoming this project, we must tell you the history of this innovation. The prototype of this innovative walking robot for paraplegics was invented by a team of 4th-year engineering students from Sripathum University, consisting of Mr. Sombun Kamolphujitkup, Mr. Nattapong Kongmalai, Mr. Setthawichok Nilnawarat, and Mr. Itthisak Anantakankul, with Dr. Wanayut Saenngern, head of the mechatronics engineering program, Faculty of Engineering, Sripathum University, as an advisor. They jointly created an innovation called “Innovative walking robot for paraplegics” (Walking Assist Robot), aiming to further develop it into commercial production, creating opportunities for patients and the disabled to use it universally.<\/span><\/h6>\n
And from the starting point of the idea in the laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University on that day, we received support from Sripatum University. The Faculty of Engineering joined forces with IRPC Public Company Limited and the Sirindhorn Institute for Rehabilitation to take the prototype idea and develop it into a medical innovation through the “Development of Walking Robotic Suit for Paraplegics” project, with the aim of expanding the research results to further develop into the production process to create opportunities for the disabled to use, access innovations, and respond to the needs of the disabled, leading to a better quality of life in the future.<\/span><\/h6>\n
This is another source of pride for Sripatum University and the Faculty of Engineering, which has promoted creativity in the classroom, including the research and development of new and complex technologies that can be applied in practice, in line with the faculty\u2019s slogan: Make engineering studies easy and applicable in the real world.<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
