I am an alumnus of Sripatum University, Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, code 49. I have liked mechanisms & machines since childhood, so I chose to study vocational studies, Vocational Certificate and Higher Vocational Certificate. With a dream of becoming an engineer, I chose to study mechanical engineering at SPU because...It is a university that has a curriculum that supports people who have completed a vocational certificate, which is certified by the Engineering Council. The teachers teach in a fun way that can be applied to real work. There are ready laboratories. The reputation of Sripatum University's engineering faculty made me believe that I would be successful. And I was right. After graduating from Sripatum University, I had the opportunity to study in Japan. Currently, I work as an engineer in the Research and Development Technology Department at ‘AIHO’ in Japan.

The path to obtaining a “Japanese Government Scholarship”
>> To study at the Tokyo Institute of Technology<<

Thanks to the first step from SPU , I had the opportunity to receive a Japanese government scholarship (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) . There are 2 types of scholarships: apply through the Embassy of Japan in Thailand or apply directly through a university in Japan. I applied directly through a Japanese university. When I passed the qualifications, both GPA and language proficiency, I contacted a university professor in Japan to tell him that I was interested in doing research. Then, I emailed him to introduce myself to explain my research, attaching my skills and certificates I had received before presenting via an online meeting, which used English to answer questions. If the research content presented was interesting and I had enough basic knowledge to start, including my English and Japanese proficiency level, I passed with flying colors.

Who wants a scholarship to study at
….Japan…. Listen here!

For those who are interested in pushing themselves to work as an engineer in Japan, there are 2 main types: apply in Thailand and study in Japan before applying for a job after graduation. I myself am the second type, which is to study for a master’s and doctorate degree in Japan. After that, apply for a job. Applying from Thailand is quite difficult. Normally, companies in Japan will accept those who graduated there because the applicants already know the Japanese lifestyle and customs. Initially, before starting work, I had 3 rounds of interviews: from the HR department to check communication skills, from the technology and research team to check engineering skills and problem-solving, and finally, an interview with the executives to check attitude and personality. The main thing I would like to recommend to you is to prepare your engineering knowledge (principles and application techniques) and Japanese communication skills.

Definition & Properties
>>Of a good engineer<<

Engineers are creators, developers, and solve problems through analytical thinking processes to create the best technology and contribute to the greatest benefit to humanity. As for the qualities of engineering students, they must love calculations, like systematic thinking, like technology, are not afraid of difficulties, dare to make decisions, and have very good communication skills.

“ Engineering ” work
It’s not beyond everyone’s ability, trust me!

Engineering is not too difficult if you are determined and eager to study. You may not need to like calculations, but you just don’t hate calculations. Review your lessons often and set aside some time to study English. On the day you graduate, you must be able to answer what your strengths are. If you are interested in working in Japan, I recommend that you study hard and solidify your basics, and then come to study for a master’s degree in Japan. There are currently many scholarships available. You can search for information. Don’t forget to prepare your Japanese language skills. This will make studying and living in Japan even more enjoyable. “Dream big, be patient and determined. One day, it will be our day.” I would like to encourage all of you.

Senior “ A talented engineer” Share your experience of receiving a scholarship from the Japanese government.
